Winter Weather Advisory issued for DC Friday, light snow for the morning commute
WASHINGTON (ABC7) —
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the DC Metro and points north and west from 6am through 3pm Friday. While accumulations will be very light, generally an inch or less, it’s the freezing roadways and timing during the commute that may cause travel disruptions.
A weak disturbance over the Midwest will slide eastward tonight, making it to the Mid Atlantic Friday morning. Snow should begin in the early morning hours, starting around sunrise and continuing lightly through the commute. Snow should come to an end by the early afternoon.
Temperatures tomorrow morning will be in the teens across the area, so roadways will be frozen creating the possibility for some slick spots. Be sure to allow extra time and take it slow if you’re out early.
