We're in for a wet and cold start to the work and school week. A light wintry mix Monday morning will change over to all rain with temperatures climbing into the upper 30s this afternoon. Areas of snow, sleet, and freezing rain may mix in far north of D.C. Monday night, so watch out for additional snow and ice accumulations, as well as slick roads.

The majority of the D.C. Metro, though, will see mostly rain with this weather system. In fact, rainfall totals will be over 1" for many. The wet weather ends Tuesday night with drier weather returning Wednesday.

Wednesday will be windy and seasonable with highs in the mid to upper 40s. Temperatures climb into the 50s Thursday and Friday with wet weather returning to round out the work and school week.
