GREENBELT, Md. (WJLA) - A portion of southbound I-95 in Greenbelt will be closed for paving Monday night into Tuesday morning.

According to the State Highway Administration (SHA), lanes will be closed off in succession in order to repave a major crack in the road over the Greenbelt Metro Tracks, pictured above.

Beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, a single left lane will be closed, followed by double left-lane closures by 10 p.m. and a triple left-lane closure by 11 p.m.

One single right lane will be open. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.

All lanes should be open again by 5 a.m. Tuesday.

"Weather permitting, this should be the last evening of bridge joint repair that require triple lane closures on southbound I-95 over the Greenbelt Metro Tracks," the SHA said.
