Sam Sweeney joined ABC7/WJLA-TV and WJLA 24/7 in April 2015 as a reporter for Good Morning Washington and now as Transportation Reporter. Sam has a passion for all the things that move, and you can usually find him at the airport, on a plane traveling around the world, or somewhere in the DMV's Metro system.

Sam comes to WJLA from the NBC station in Fort Myers/Naples, Florida. Sam began his career at the NBC affiliate in Atlantic City, New Jersey, covering Hurricane Sandy live from the evacuated city.

Sam graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University where he majored in Journalism with a minor in Spanish.

Sam hails from the suburbs of Philadelphia, and has known since age 5 that he wanted to be a TV journalist. Having grown up with a minor obsession with Tom Brokaw, Sam couldn't be happier to be living his childhood dream.
