Nathan Baca is an investigative reporter with the 7 ON YOUR SIDE team focusing on government mismanagement, waste and fraud. He joined ABC7 July 2017.

Baca is a nationally award-winning reporter receiving the DuPont-Columbia Silver Baton for coverage of the Las Vegas home foreclosure crisis. He’s also won investigative Emmy awards for exposing failures in Ohio’s criminal background check system, dangerous gaps in Nevada’s traffic courts and an assassination conspiracy on a California Native American reservation.

Baca’s investigations have had national impact. He was among the first to expose the Church of Scientology’s theology. And his reports led to the creation of new admission policies for American Catholic seminaries.

Baca comes to ABC7 from WBNS in Columbus, Ohio. Before that he reported for KLAS in Las Vegas and KESQ in Palm Springs, California. He was born and raised in Ventura, California.

Nathan lives with his wife and two large dogs, rescued Labrador and Husky mixes, in Frederick County, Maryland. He’s a history nerd at heart, able to rattle off dates and facts about obscure past events. Nathan’s interests include history, hiking, PC gaming, and jazz.
