Redskins host annual 'Skins Santa Shoppe'

Washington Redskins player Vernon Davis helps to handout presents at the Redskins annual Skins Santa Shoppe event at FedEx Field in Landover, MD, December 5, 2017 (ABC7).

The Washington Redskins and the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program teamed up to spread holiday cheer at the annual Skins Santa Shoppe* at FedEx field on Tuesday.

"A lot of these kids come from environments where they are less fortunate," said Redskins tight end Vernon Davis. "To be here and be part of this is truly special."

Kids from the Washington, D.C. area were treated to lunch, craft, cupcakes, and presents.

"It took me back to when I used to sit on the edge of the steps waiting to go downstairs and open presents myself," said Redskins tight end Niles Paul.

"This is fantastic" said Lance Corporal Diaz-Lorenzo, one several Marines participating in the event. "I live for stuff like this, seeing the smiles on their faces, it is so much fun."

And on a day like this, no one cares about the Redskins win-loss record ...well almost.

"They ask about Dallas," Vernon Davis said. "Did you lose to dallas? Aww, come on! But it's cool, they're just being kids."
