Three Nationals players have been named to the NL All-Star Game team.

MLB announced Sunday that outfielder Bryce Harper, starting pitcher Max Scherzer and closer Sean Doolittle have all been selected to play in the 89th annual Midsummer Classic, which will be held this year at Nationals Park.

The 25-year-old Harper, the 2015 NL MVP, will be making his fifth career All-Star Game start. Overall, he’s now a six-time All-Star.

Scherzer, 33, a three-time Cy Young Award winner, is also an All-Star for the sixth time; Doolittle, 31, is now an All-Star for the second time after previously making the AL roster with the Oakland Athletics in 2014.

Along with Harper, Scherzer and Doolittle, shortstop Trea Turner could also become an All-Star as a candidate in the “Final Vote” contest, where fans select a final player onto both the NL and AL rosters.

Shortstop Manny Machado, who may soon be traded, was the lone player from the Orioles selected to play in the All-Star Game. He will play on the AL team.

The 2018 MLB All-Star Game will be held July 17, with first pitch scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.
