The DC scores soccer organization could be $10,000 richer and it's all because of their coach Mark "Popsie" Lewis. Lewis was chosen by DC United as their MLS Works Community MVP. Lewis volunteers his time every week coaching three different DC Scores soccer teams in the Columbia Heights neighborhood.

"It's keeps so many kids off the streets. We have eight teams in U19 division. We have six teams in the U15 division. We have four teams in the girls division so it's a lot of kids when you add it up that's doing something positive and I feel good about that," says Lewis.

Lewis will get a free trip to San Jose for the MLS all-star game where he'll be recognized and he'll also find out if he received enough votes to take home 10 grand.

"The trips and whatever else comes with it is not really why I do it," says Lewis. "I do it because I genuinely care for these kids. I used to live in the Columbia Heights neighborhood and that's where it started and I'm just trying to do something positive."
