WASHINGTON (ABC7) — Aaron Donald and the Los Angeles Rams have agreed on a record-breaking 6-year, $135 million deal, including $87 million guaranteed, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Donald will also receive a $40 million signing bonus in the deal, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
It's the richest defensive contract in NFL history.
The All-Pro defensive tackle's salary cap number for this season will increase from $6.892 million to $8.892 million.
Despite giving Donald the massive contract, Shefter tweeted the deal won't impact the Rams salary cap.
Last season, Donald had 11 sacks and five forced fumbles, according to ESPN.
Donald is the latest NFL superstar to receive a huge payday this week from his team. New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham signed a 5-year extension worth $95 million making the him the league's highest-paid receiver.
Green Bay Packers Super Bowl winning quarterback Aaron Rodgers inked a 4-year, $134 million deal with the franchise which could be valued up to $180 million in total money, according to ESPN.
