After finding success at the University of Virginia, London Perrantes' career has taken some turns.
But as it turns out, his biggest opportunity may come close to where he starred for the Cavaliers.
Perrantes is back in the area doing what he loves to do.
"Just a lifelong dream to play in the NBA, no better way than to be in the states," Perrantes said.
The former UVA star just signed with the Capital City Go-Go team, with hopes of eventually getting capped up the Wizards.
"Being in the same facility as the Wizards brings more eyes, more exposure, a bunch of teams out looking for players," he added.
After being on the Cleveland Cavaliers team that made it to the 2018 NBA Finals, Perrantes bounced around from NBA summer league teams to playing professionally overseas, where it was a bit of a challenge.
"Hardest thing was being out by myself," Perrantes said. "In college, I had a bunch of roommates, you get used to having that alone time. The language barrier was the tough thing, being on the court having to find ways to speak to your teammates."
Perrantes has made an impact for the Go-Go already, averaging just under 12 points a game, but more importantly, creating offense for others.
"Just think, I've matured, played more basketball, I'm stronger wiser," he said.
"He has a good feel for the league," his coach said of the star player. "For him, just continue to work hard, he's in a good situation, we believe in him, his infectious spirit will rub off on everyone. Everybody wants to bet on themselves to play at the next level. I feel like I have the game too, it comes down to opportunity. You get it, you have to be ready for it. The best way to be ready for it is in the g-league, keep working every single day., and when your time comes, just be ready."
