CONWAY, S.C. (WPDE) — Two bank employees were killed during a robbery in Conway, South Carolina on Monday, according to Lt. Selena Small.
Lt. Selena Small of the Conway Police Department gives an update on the bank robbery that happened Monday afternoon.
Conway police were called to the CresCom Bank on 16th Avenue around 1:20 p.m. for a bank alarm, she said.
Police are still looking for the suspect who is believed to be armed and dangerous, Small said.
The robbery reportedly happened around the time many people were getting ready to watch the eclipse.
At around 2:30 p.m. Conway police released a photo of the suspect and said they may have left the scene in a white Chrysler 200 with SC plate IZM457 with tinted windows.
The vehicle may also have a sticker on the glass that says "River Life," Small added.
Small said officers are on scene now and are asking for help finding the man. They urge anyone with information to call 911.
Small urges the public to be on the look out for the suspect and to call police if they see him.
She said Myrtle Beach and Horry County police, as well as the FBI and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are all helping with the investigation.
But, Small would not say where they are searching for the suspect, or if he got away with any money.
She also would not say if there was a hostage situation at the bank as part of the robbery.
The names of the two victims have not been released.
We have a crew at the scene and will be bringing you live updates on this as they come in.
