Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is telling colleagues at the Justice Department that he plans to leave in mid-March, an official familiar with the matter told ABC News.

The official said Attorney General Bill Barr already plans to replace Rosenstein with Jeff Rosen, Deputy Secretary of Transportation.

An announcement from the White House nominating a new deputy AG could come as early as this week.
