WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) -- Police in Lenexa, Kan. are investigating a shooting at Costco Supermarket after an off-duty officer killed an armed man Sunday.
The man entered the store waving a weapon Sunday morning, according to police. An off-duty police officer shopping there then shot and killed him.
Police did not reveal what department the officer worked for. No one else was injured and officials are not searching for anyone else, according to officials.
In a tweet sent on Sunday afternoon, Lenexa Police said they were working a shooting but that it was not an active shooter situation.
They also warned residents and shoppers in the area that there would be a large police presence for several hours.
Multiple social media posts from the scene show police cars in front of the store.
Officers can also be seen talking to drivers in the parking lot.
Another post shows shoppers being evacuated from the scene.
