WASHINGTON (SBG) — The Department of Justice investigation into Hunter Biden’s finances is ongoing, as confirmed by Hunter Biden himself.

But new reporting details while he sat on the board at the Ukrainian energy company, the consulting firm Blue Star Strategies — which took Burisma on as a client at the time — is now also under investigation, for potential illegal lobbying, according to Politico.

This follows an investigation led by Republicans in Congress who also looked into the firm.

At a May 20, 2020 hearing, Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., said, "There was actually a bipartisan suggestion, 'if you want the records from Blue Star why don’t you just subpoena Blue Star?' I said 'so I will.'"

A vote in his committee, the Senate Homeland Security Committee, was approved along party lines.

President Joe Biden has continued to deny any involvement with his son’s business dealings.

These new developments come as several media outlets have continued reporting on the Hunter Biden story, with new elements stemming from the trove of emails purportedly taken from his laptop, first reported on in The New York Post.

Now, The New York Post is reporting on a meeting at a D.C. restaurant, Cafe Milano, involving then-Vice President Joe Biden, along with Hunter Biden and his overseas business partners and on an email from them thanking him for the opportunity to meet his father.

The Washington Examiner is reporting Hunter Biden left his secret service detail behind while pursuing business deals in Kazakhstan.

And then there’s eight minutes of audio, first published by the U.K.’s Daily Mail, in which a man who sounds like Hunter Biden is heard saying, "You know what I actually smoked crack with Marion Barry." Barry is the former Mayor of Washington, D.C.

Peter Schweizer, whose research, laid out in his book "Secret Empires" first revealed Hunter Biden’s business dealings, said he has also been going through the emails which he says show former FBI Director Louis Freeh donated $100,000 to the late Beau Biden’s children and discussed business deals with Hunter Biden.

"Here you have former FBI Director Louis Freeh, who certainly has a lot of friends in the FBI headquarters, is actually a business partner with the Biden family. That is troubling," Schweizer said.

Hunter Biden was a frequent target of former President Donald Trump, whose former Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows told Newsmax TV, "I can tell you there’s more to come with Hunter Biden.”
