WASHINGTON (ABC7) — Due to a winter storm expected to impact areas of Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina, Amtrak is cancelling trains and will modify service beginning on Saturday, Dec. 8 through Tuesday, Dec. 11.
For the safety of all customers and Amtrak employees, Amtrak will begin to operate on the following plan for service as follows:

The following trains are operating on a modified or cancelled schedule:
Bus transportation will not be provided for trains that are operating on a modified schedule. Customers who are planning to travel should check their train status on Amtrak's website or on the Amtrak smartphone app prior to departure. In addition, allow extra time to get to the station and continue to use caution in stations and on station platforms.
Customers with reservations on trains that are being modified will typically be accommodated on trains with similar departure times or another day.
Amtrak will gladly waive additional charges for customers looking to change their reservation during the modified schedule by calling our reservation center at 800-USA-RAIL.
