To help keep drunk drivers off the roads, the Washington Regional Alcohol Program (WRAP) is offering free rides via Lyft throughout the D.C. area during the holiday season.

Individuals, 21 and over, who have been drinking alcohol can use the Lyft app and enter a SoberRide code in the Promo section to get a safe ride home (up to $15). Promo codes will be posted weekly at 2 p.m. on December 15, 23, and 31, at, according to the statement.

SoberRide will be available in Lyft’s D.C. coverage area in D.C., Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties in Maryland, and Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William Counties in Virginia.

"Last December, nearly a thousand (911) Greater Washington residents did the right thing and availed themselves of this lifesaving service rather than possibly driving home impaired," said Kurt Gregory Erickson, WRAP's President.
