WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WJLA) - A woman who was sexually assaulted in her Woodbridge home Wednesday is speaking out about the assault, saying she feared for her life.

The suspect apparently entered through an unlocked ground floor window of the residence in River Bend Way in Woodbridge. At about 10 Wednesday morning, the victim awoke when her bedroom door opened.

As the man approached her he removed his clothing. She says he had a towel wrapped around his lower face. She describes him as tall, well over six feet, slim and young, no older than 25. She says she pleaded with him and even offered him her wedding ring to not hurt her.

“I say, ‘oh my god this guy, he wants to kill me’ and I feel terrified,” she says.

He told her he had been watching her - she assumes through the window.

She says as he continued the assault she kept trying to stall him. When she showed him a recent scar, it apparently startled her attacker and he bolted.

While she is thankful to have survived the attack she says she must leave the apartment complex.

“I cried all day and night yesterday,” she said. “I love this place. I feel okay in this community. But I don't feel safe. I feel terrified.”
