Just days ago, the original Wonder Woman and longtime Capitals fan Lynda Carter was in D.C. for the Stanley Cup Final and now the new Wonder Woman Gal Gadot will be in Georgetown.

The sequel to the very successful superhero movie “Wonder Woman” will start filming in D.C. Wednesday. Because of that, there are going to be major road closures throughout the week. P and O streets will both be closed at 32nd and 31st streets Wednesday and Thursday, with similar restrictions scheduled from June 28 to July 1.

The film crew has rebuilt the store front for Commander Salamander just for the movie. “Wonder Woman 2," set to be released in 2019, will be filming in Georgetown and also up 395 at the now defunct Landmark Mall in Alexandria.

The movie is set in the 1980s. The Hollywood movie company dubbed this film “MAGIC HOUR” and sent a letter to Northwest residents saying, “we understand that we are just guests in your neighborhood and we will conduct this activity in a safe, timely and professional manner.”

There is no word on Gadot possibly being out filming Wednesday but she has been spotted at several restaurants in the area in the last few days.
