BLADENSBURG, Md. (WJLA) – Police went door to door in a Bladensburg neighborhood Tuesday night, searching for information to help them catch a man they say had sexually assaulted a woman the night before.

Prince George's County Police say the woman was walking on a wooded path that connects Quincy Street to an area that includes basketball nets and a playground. That play area sits just below a hill that Bladensburg Elementary School sits on top of.

The sexual assault happened around 6:45 p.m. Monday, when it was still light outside.

"It worries me," said Ramona, a neighborhood resident who only gave her first name. "Now, I'm going to take precautions for sure—if this just happened last night—because I walk out here late sometimes."

As several Prince George's County detectives walked the neighborhood Tuesday night, they handed out fliers with a description of the crime and the suspect.

The attacker is described as an African-American man with black and gray facial hair. He is skinny and approximately 5-feet-9-inches tall. He was dressed in all blue—blue baseball cap, light blue t-shirt and blue jeans. If you have any information that could help catch him, you are asked to call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
