Woman accused of striking employee in head with bottle during store robbery in Woodbridge
WOODBRIDGE, Va. (ABC7) —
A 43-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly striking an employee in the head with a bottle of alcohol during a robbery at an ABC store in Woodbridge.
Ivy Joethel Moorefield is charged with aggravated malicious wounding and robbery, according to Prince William County Police.
Police say the female employee suffered a severe cut to her head, and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
On Aug. 8, Moorfield allegedly walked into the store and grabbed three bottles of alcohol without paying before leaving the business.
The employee followed Moorfield to recover the bottles of alcohol, but investigators say Moorfield hit her in the head with one of the bottles.
Authorities say Moorfield then picked up a piece of glass and threatened the victim before reentering the store to grab two more bottles of alcohol.
Moorfield left the store located at 16661 River Ridge Blvd before police arrived.
