VIENNA, Va. (WJLA) - A Vienna-based charity is doing its part to help victims of Hurricane Harvey, especially women and teen girls.

Bringing Resources to Aid Women's Shelters (BRAWS) is collecting feminine supplies, underwear and bras for those displaced by the storm.

"Seeing all the women and girls that were stranded in shelters, displaced from their homes, we had to help," says BRAWS Executive Director Holly Seibold. "Periods don't stop just because there is a crisis and emergency around you."

Dozens of volunteers worked through the weekend collecting boxes of tampons, sanitary napkins and new underwear. The items are being boxed up and will be shipped out later this week.

There is still time to help out. BRAWS will be accepting donations this week. Bring items to 303 Maple Ave. W., Unit F, Vienna, Virginia. Donations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday. Donations can also be made to braws.org.
