Veteran Investigative Reporter Lisa Fletcher to join 7 ON YOUR SIDE

WJLA is excited to announce our hire of Investigative Reporter Lisa Fletcher

WJLA-TV/ABC7 announced today that on Tuesday, 5/10, nationally-recognized investigative reporter and anchor Lisa Fletcher will be joining the Washington, D.C. station's prestigious 7 ON YOUR SIDE team as Senior Investigative Reporter. She will also report on Sinclair Broadcast Group's nationally syndicated investigative news magazine Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson. Fletcher has been host of Al Jazeera America's award winning "The Stream," and a national correspondent for ABC News.

"We are thrilled to have an investigative reporter of Lisa's caliber joining our already formidable team," said ABC7 Director of News Mitch Jacob. "Her brand of hard-hitting, no-nonsense reporting will be a perfect fit for the type of investigative journalism 7 ON YOUR SIDE is known for."

"7 ON YOUR SIDE is one of the largest and most respected local TV station investigative units in the nation, and I am proud to be joining this team of award-winning reporters," said Lisa Fletcher.

Fletcher's national investigative work has placed her at the center of some of America's biggest stories, including her in-depth examination of Vice-Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin's record and standing during the 2008 presidential campaign, South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford's political scandal in Argentina, the Craigslist Killer in Boston, the OJ Simpson trial and sentencing in Las Vegas, and the Michael Jackson death investigation.

Lisa has been kindly honored for her investigative reports, including a George Foster Peabody Award, multiple Edward R. Murrow Awards, honors from the Associated Press and Society of Professional Journalists, along with numerous EMMY Awards. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Oregon. Fletcher and her husband live in Maryland, where they get outdoors as often as possible for hiking with their rescue beagle, Lily.
