    FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (WJLA) – A local Virginia bakery is causing some controversy after posting a photo on social media of a Confederate flag cake they made for a special order.

    (function(d, s, id) < var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);>(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));

    We had a special order today for this, we made it without question. History is a part of this great nation, and our area is home to many battles of the Civil War. God bless America!

    Crumbs & Get It Cookie Company, located in Frederickburg’s Central Park, posted the photo of the cake to their Facebook page on July 2.

    “We had a special order today for this, we made it without question. History is a part of this great nation, and our area is home to many battles of the Civil War. God bless America!” the bakery said in their initial post.

    “The thing about this great Nation is that we all have opinions and are allowed to voice them. We can debate this all day long, at the end of the day.... The history behind this flag has made each and every one of us who we are today. What we are, is a Nation of great diversity. What we learned, from The Civil War, will carry on....always. This was not done out of hatred. We post many special orders, and will continue to do so. No, we will not do ISIS or Nazi cookie cakes, so don't be ridiculous,” the bakery said in the comments section of the same post.
