2 men shot to death at hookah lounge in Sterling; suspect arrested

Two men are dead and a suspect has been arrested after a shooting at a café in Sterling early Monday morning, according to authorities.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said they were called to the Pharaoh Café in the 46000 block of Old Ox Road for a reported shooting around 1:45 a.m.

Thirty-four-year-old Hassan Gailani, of Alexandria, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

The sheriff's department said they caught Gailani in his car, which has a Lyft sticker on it, when he tried to leave the area.

Pharaoh Café is described as a late-night hookah lounge with DJs and belly dancing on certain nights. It closes regularly at 4 a.m.

The victims have been identified as Ahmed S. Osman-Ahmed, 35, of Sterling, and Murtada A. Marof, 40, of Herndon. Both died at the scene.

Gailani is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.
