A hair studio in NW D.C. was left with bullet holes after a shooting Saturday night.

"Within a minute, the gun is shot from across the street," Elias Tseglyhu said, pointing to where he was when it happened.

Tseglyhu owns the Ethiopian Restaurant next door and said he saw the entire thing.

"I'm just scared all the time to work here, all the time, I'm scared. I'm not safe all the time," he said.

According to a police report, a toddler was grazed when a bullet came through the window of "Under the Sun Hair Studio", where he was with his mother.

"For something like that to happen at a hair salon with little babies, that's really crazy. That's uncalled for," said Shairyar Khan, who has lived in the area for about a month.

Police cannot confirm what the "projectile" was that struck the two-year-old boy. The report also shows an adult male was shot in the ankle.

"The guy was next to my car, I was there," Tseglyhu said.

It's a shooting that left neighbors feeling uneasy.

"Stuff like that makes me worry about the people that are in my surroundings," said Melonie Wilson.

For Tseglyhu, it's the first time in the three years since he opened his shop that he's seen anything like this.

"You never know when it's coming to me, this kind of situation, you know? They need to stop this," he said.
