Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office investigators say surveillance cameras corroborate Katelin Akens' stepfather's account of events surrounding the disappearance of the teen.

Akens vanished after her stepfather drove the 19-year-old from Spotsylvania County to Springfield Town Center Saturday. She was scheduled to fly to Arizona to start school.

Akens' stepfather says she decided she wanted to do some shopping and would take the Metro to Reagan National Airport.

A road crew found her luggage Monday along a rural road in Spotsylvania County. Her family says it contained money, credit cards and her plane ticket.

Police are searching for a 2010 Kia 4 door silver sedan with "I ?? u" drawn on the back windshield in white shoe polish.

Spotsylvania investigators also say there is no connection between Akens' disappearance and the shooting death of 21-year-old Heather Ciccone Monday.
