1.7 magnitude earthquake hits Loudoun County area, USGS says
LANSDOWNE, Va. (ABC7) —
A 1.7 magnitude earthquake struck the Loudoun County area early Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The small earthquake reportedly hit the Lansdowne area a little after midnight. There were no reports of injuries or damage.
"We hear some residents felt a slight shake and rumbles in parts of Lansdowne," Loudoun County Sheriff's tweeted.
The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Communications Center received calls from residents in the Lansdowne area on reports of a "loud noise" causing homes to shake.
