Ryan Kerrigan blitzes Inova Children's Hospital with teddy bears
FALLS CHURCH, Va. (ABC7) —
After his game-winning sack against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Washington linebacker Ryan Kerrigan blitzed Inova Children's Hospital in Falls Church with holiday cheer Monday afternoon.
He made several special deliveries of Build-A-Bears in custom burgundy and gold football uniforms to pediatric patients at the hospital for his annual Reindeer Rush event.
This was Kerrigan's only day off this week, but he said this is a day he looks forward to all year.
Kerrigan visited with a couple dozen children throughout the hospital. He could only interact with some of these children from a distance because they have weakened immune systems. Even then, his visit had the same effect.
“Hopefully with events we have today we can bring them a little bit of happiness during an otherwise trying time,” Kerrigan said.
