Police arrest 4th suspect in connection with double homicide of Montgomery Co. HS students
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (ABC7) —
Montgomery County Police have arrested a fourth man in connection with the double homicide of two Montgomery County high school students who were found dead in a vehicle in Montgomery Village in June.
At around 10:45 p.m., residents reported to police that they had heard shots being fired in 8200 block of Gallery Court on June 5. When police arrived at the scene, they found Shadi Adi Najjar, 17, and Artem S. Ziberov, 18, inside a blue Honda Civic suffering from gunshot wounds. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.
Weeks later on June 17, Edgar Garcia-Goana, 24, Roger Garcia, 19, and Jose Ovilson Canales-Yanez, 25, were arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the homicides.
On Friday morning, Rony Alexander Galicia, 25, of Germantown, was arrested in Rockville and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit the murder of the Najjar and Ziberov, according to police.
Galacia's DNA was found at the crime scene which subsequently led to his arrest.
