Police: 2 killed after small aircraft crashes in Carroll County, Md.

Two people are dead after a small aircraft crash Saturday in Carroll County, Maryland.

Officials say the aircraft crashed moments after take-off killing the pilot and passenger. The identities of the victims are not being released at this time until a next of kin is contacted.

Police say the pilot and passenger were the only two aboard the plane.

According to investigators, the plane was departing from a private air strip in Carroll County when it crashed around 11 a.m. at 1236 Baugher Road.

A preliminary investigation reveals the crash happened near the airstrip.
