WASHINGTON (ABC7) — A 14-year-old boy is dead after he was shot in a crossfire in Southeast D.C. Sunday, according to authorities.
D.C. Police say they were called to 1720 block of Minnesota Avenue, SE near the Garden Memorial Presbyterian Church at around 6:59 p.m. Officers say they found Steven Slaughter of Southeast D.C. there with a multiple bullet wounds. Slaughter was taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead, officials say.
Police say they do not believe Slaughter was the intended target in the shooting.
Authorities have not released any suspect information at this time.
Police say they are offering up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible. Those with information on Slaughter's shooting can call police at 202-727-9099.
