Virginia Moore is beyond devastated Monday after she said her daughter and son-in- law were killed in a car accident Sunday afternoon.

"They were the perfect example of a young, thriving couple," Moore told ABC 7. "They had their own house, they had everything going for them."

According to Prince George's County Police, the couple's Lexus and an SUV were involved in the crash that happened along Kirby Rd.

Prince George's County Police identified the couple as 31-year-old Shalaya Moore-Tobe, and 34-year-old Delonte Tobe.

The couple's vehicle was struck while turning right onto Kirby Rd. Police say a preliminary investigation reveals that the striking vehicle crossed over the center line to bypass two cars slowing down. When the SUV got back into its proper lane, it struck the Lexus.

Authorities say the couple was taken to an area hospital where they later died.

The man in the SUV suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Family members told ABC 7, the couple had three children, and had been married for a few years.

According to family, the couple was running out to get last minute items for a weekend BBQ when the crash happened, just outside their neighborhood.

Shalaya's mother has a message for everyone behind the wheel.

"If I could say anything, please slow down!"

The family has created a GoFundMe page to help with the children's needs. To donate, click here.
