WASHINGTON (ABC7) — DC Fire & EMS along with WMATA say a person has died after being struck by a train at the Fort Totten Metro Station.
The incident happened shortly after 10:45 p.m. on Thursday night. DC Fire & EMS in coordination with WMATA and Metro Transit worked to help the victim after the incident took place.
One passenger was evaluated by EMS, while the person who was struck by the train died from their injuries.
Red Line service was suspended between Rhode Island Avenue & Silver Spring, with shuttle bus service in place due to the closure.
All passengers on the train were assisted to the platform in closely coordinated effort with Metro Transit Police and WMATA.
