A driver has died after his tractor-trailer rolled over him at a weigh station in Montgomery County.

Fire officials said the accident involved a "mishap" with a parked tractor-trailer in a parking lot.

Maryland State Police identified the victim as 58-year-old James Lee Hobbs. There were no other injuries reported.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue reported Hobbs sustained critical injuries and died.

Fire officials conducted a technical rescue along the northbound lane of I-270 at a weigh station.

A trooper placed Hobbs' tractor-trailer out of service at the Hyattstown weigh station for brake violations. The vehicle was put in the out of service lot.

Investigators said Hobbs tried to make brake adjustments to the vehicle but didn't put the parking brake on the tractor-trailer.

Hobbs was under the vehicle when it rolled back over him.

Authorities said an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
