2 dead after severe weather causes Amazon building to collapse

'Partial' building collapse at Baltimore Amazon center

BALTIMORE (WBFF) - Officials confirm that two men are dead after severe storms touched down near Baltimore County Friday evening.

According to the fire department there was a partial building collapse at the Amazon Fulfillment Center in southeast Baltimore.

Amazon said, "the two people who were fatally injured are third party contractors and not Amazon employees. At this time, no other people were injured."

Serious storm damage was seen at the complex, on Holabird Avenue at Broening Highway.

Amazon also released the below statement,

Last night, severe weather impacted one of our facilities in Baltimore City resulting in two fatalities. First responders remain onsite assessing the damage. The safety of our employees and contractors is our top priority and at this time the building remains closed. We are incredibly thankful for the quick response from emergency services. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families impacted by Friday evening’s tragic event.
