Parents are using video games as a method to keep their teen drivers safe behind the wheel.

According to AAA, the time between Memorial Day and Labor Day sees a national average of 10 deaths a day involving teenage drivers. This is a 14 percent increase compared to the rest of the year.

Most parents want to make sure their teen driver is over prepared before they travel on the road alone.

Driving Essentials, a new interactive game, is replacing student's enrolling in traditional driver's education courses.

A narrator in the game acts as an instructor talking the player through every start, stop, and turn on the road.

The games costs $39 and can be played on an X-Box but will expand to be played on PlayStation game consoles.
