Officials: Man dies after driving car into Potomac River

A man is dead after he drove a car into the Potomac River Friday morning at the Columbia Island Marina in Arlington, D.C. police report.

The man was initially rescued out of the car by a water rescue team with the Arlington County Fire Department, but died after he was taken to a hospital.

There were no additional victims in the car that was pulled from the river shortly after 10 a.m.
