A man and a dog are dead after a fire at a mobile home on a large farm in Charles County Wednesday morning, according to authorities.

The Charles County Fire Department says that crews were called to the scene at around 5:39 a.m. for a fire at 1775 Marshall Hall Road, Bryan Road.

The trailer was nearly fully engulfed in flames, officials say.

Authorities say firefighters went into the burning trailer which and pulled the man out.

The man was later pronounced dead, officials say.

The dog was also killed in the fire.

A camper that the man was using for storage had also caught on fire.

The fire has been put out and no one else was reported injured in the blaze, according to the fire department.

The Maryland Fire Marshal is investigating the cause and the Major Crimes Unit was also called to the scene.
