OCEAN CITY, Md. (ABC7) -- As Hurricane Chris churned north over the last few days, albeit well off the coast, the storm created choppy waters and rip currents on beaches.

Ocean City Beach Patrol made 141 rescues Monday, and 84 on Tuesday, ABC7's Brad Bell reports.

About 155 blocks of Ocean City beach is patrolled by OCBP, so 225 rescues in two days averages out to about one-and-a-half rescues per block.

OCBP is urging beach goers to be cautious, and never swim when there's no lifeguard on duty.
