Registered Nurse Ellen Burns leads by example and any eager newcomer willing to learn gets taken under her wing. Twenty-five years ago, Burns graduated nursing school and walked into Doctor’s Community Hospital.

Early on, a supervisor guided her as a new nurse and now she’s paying it forward. Not only by answering questions and sharing learned experiences, Burns reminds the new RNs that when it gets tough, appreciate the impact they have on patients and families.
