BURTONSVILLE, Md. (ABC7) — A Montgomery County firefighter and rescuer died suddenly Friday afternoon in Burtonsville, officials report.
Charles "Rick" Gentilcore, 52, was found unresponsive by coworkers at Fire Station 15 at around 3:30 p.m.
Officials say he was treated at the scene and transported to Holy Cross Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Gentilcore's body is being transported to the medical examiner in Baltimore to determine cause of death.
Officials honored the fallen firefighter by serving as escorts during transport.

The Laurel Volunteer Fire Department also honored Gentilcore.
Gentilcore served Montgomery County Fire & Rescue for 23 years and was assigned to Burtonsville FS715.
