Metro considers outsourcing maintenance for Silver Line
FALLS CHURCH, Va. (ABC7) —
Metro officials are looking at ways to save money, and are considering outsourcing maintenance for its Silver Line.
Within the next two years, trains will travel 23 miles further down the Silver Line than it travels now. It will cost millions of dollars to keep the rails in optimal condition.
Metro may outsource work to private companies to sustain the Silver Line, according to documents obtained by ABC7 News.
