MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (ABC7) —
Maryland Task Force 1 is going to South Carolina as Hurricane Florence bears down on the East Coast.
The Montgomery County Fire Department says the 80-person team deployed early Wednesday morning from Rockville and will be equipped with swift water rescue resources.
MD-TF 1 is left with a caravan of tractor trailers and will bring support vehicles, six boats, six K9s and other emergency resources.
Hurricane Florence remains a Category 4 storm and is expected to do the most damage near the Carolinas.
The storm is expected to make landfall on Friday.
