When Taylor Hampton tweeted about her sweet treats and her business Simply Sweet Treats by Taylor, she had no idea the reach it would have.

"It just took off," said Hampton.

The tweet garnered more than 107,000 retweets and 120,000 likes.

"I don’t know what they loved so much about it, but I’m so happy they love it," she said.

She says in the few days since the tweet went viral she's been extremely busy, so busy she's had to add an assistant to help her process orders.

"I was getting probably about two to three orders maybe every weekend, every other weekend. Right now, I am booked. I have orders from today to December, but I am fully booked for the next two weeks," said Hampton.

Even celebrities are taking notice.

Hampton says the OVO Sound, the record label founded by rapper Drake, reached out to book her.

"I checked my emails and the VP of Publicity sent me an email and I was like what!?" she said.

It comes at a time when bigger bakeries have had to change their hours because of the pandemic.

Hampton says that has allowed people to turn to home bakers like herself, though she didn’t anticipate she’d have this much success so quickly.

"Since the pandemic, business actually picked up! I guess because people are home craving treats and a lot of the bigger bakeries were closed so they reached out to us small home-based bakers," she said. "To have this kind of success during the pandemic is unimaginable."

The 23-year-old says the goal has always been to open her own bakery.

"Now it’s like, I feel like I’m on a fast track to do it soon," she said.
