Suspect charged in shooting at University of Maryland hospital in Baltimore

A suspect was charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting that occurred outside a University of Maryland hospital in Baltimore on Monday morning.

A 24-year-old man, reportedly an employee of the hospital, was shot outside the University of Maryland Medical Center around 7 a.m. Police said he was shot in the face and buttocks, and that he's being treated for his injuries.

Officers with the University of Maryland Police Department arrested 26-year-old Jamar Haughton and charged him with attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment and several gun charges. He remains in police custody.
