Man shot, killed at gas station in Northeast D.C.


A man is dead after police said he was shot Saturday morning at a gas station in Northeast D.C.

D.C. Police said they were called to the scene of a shooting at a Valero Gas Station in the 900 block of Brentwood Road, NE around 6:07 a.m. Saturday at the Valero, where a man was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

D.C. Fire and EMS transported the victim, identified as 68-year-old Nazir Ahmad, of Laurel, to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to police.

Police released a photo Sunday of the suspect, who was captured by a surveillance camera at the gas station.

Anyone with information regarding the homicide is asked to call DC police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
