ALEXANDRIA, Va. (ABC7) — A woman has been arrested and charged with murder after police say she shot and killed her husband in Alexandria on Wednesday morning.

Alexandria Police found Rolf Marshall, 75, with trauma to his upper body after responding to a report of an assault in the 1100 block of Duke Street sometime after 11:00 a.m.

Authorities say the victim's wife, Paula Marshall, 47, shot and killed her husband.

Police found Rolf Marshall in critical condition and had him taken to a local hospital where was pronounced dead.
