Man dies after being stabbed inside PG County home; was not a random attack, police say

A man is dead after he was stabbed inside a house in Prince George's County early Wednesday morning, police said.

Prince George's County Police said they were called to the scene at a home in the 6700 block of Geneva Lane around 12:20 a.m, where they found a man suffering from a stab wound.

The victim, 61-year-old Lorenzo Dancy, of Northeast D.C., was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities said after the incident that the stabbing was not random before adding that there was no threat to the public.

Police are investigating the victim's death as a homicide and ask that anyone with information call the Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
