WASHINGTON (ABC7) — A man is dead and a 17-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after a double shooting Saturday night in D.C., according to authorities.
D.C. Police say they responded to a shooting in the 300 block of P Street, SW at around 9:20 p.m. 18-year-old Khyre Amar Ledbetter of D.C. and the teen were found in the 1400 block of 4th Street, SW and taken to the hospital conscious and breathing, police say.
Ledbetter later died from his injuries, according to officials. They say the 17-year-old's injuries are non-life threatening.
A lookout for a black man between five-feet, six-inches to five-feet, eight-inches tall, wearing a black hoodie with facial hair was issued.
This was one of three separate shootings in D.C. on Saturday.
P Street was closed between 3rd and 4th Street SW as authorities investigated but has since reopened.
Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to call D.C. police at (202) 727-9099. Police say they are offering a reward of up to$25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
