Man and woman killed in triple fatal dump truck crash in Maryland identified

Three people were killed after a car crash involving a dump track Tuesday afternoon in Newburg, Md. (SkyTrak7)

A man and woman killed in a triple fatal crash involving a dump truck Tuesday afternoon in Newburg, Maryland have been identified.

On Wednesday, Maryland State Police identified the victims as 44-year-old Theresa Robinson and 45-year-old Arnold Griffin, of Waldorf. The third victim has been identified as 24-year-old Kayle Bodensteiner, of Baltimore.

Robinson was the driver of the SUV in the crash with the dump truck. Griffin and Bodensteiner were two of the four passengers in the SUV. Two other passengers were injured. They were identified as 27-year-old Taraca Graham and 25-year-old Dajauana Jenkins.

Graham and Jenkins were treated for their injuries at Medstar Hospital.

Authorities identified the dump truck driver as 64-year-old William Demarr. The passenger in the vehicle was identified as 64-year-old Melinda Baden. Demarr and Baden were taken to the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland.

Investigators say Demarr was driving the dump truck along MD Route 234 towards the intersection of Penns Hill Road.

Robinson was driving the SUV along Penns Hill Road. Police say the SUV failed to stop and collided with the dump truck.

Budds Creek Road between Wicomico Ridge Road and Glasva School Road was closed in both directions due to the accident.

Police say an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
